This customer had a problem. The company's labels were being affixed to a wet and cold environment — a refrigerated product — and the labels were coming off after being automatically applied through a label dispenser. The Seneca team visited with the client to review their label application process. While there, we gathered more information on the substrate material and their production process. The information we gathered allowed us to go to our material suppliers with some very specific parameters. We produced samples to make sure the application would work, and then offered the client an economical and effective solution which is still being used today. As an added service, our sales representative continues to monitor and observe the performance of the label in tandem with the customer. Read more about this project

A company in the chemical industry came to us looking for label solutions that gave them more flexibility while also reducing their cost and inventory. Seneca went to work doing what we do best: researching multiple options and coming back with solutions. Partnering with our raw material suppliers, we performed tests to arrive at adhesives that work in dry ice, cooler, and freezer environments, while still being removable for possible re-labeling of already labeled containers. Seneca also provided test samples of imprintable overlaminate and ribbon combinations that offered the most durability. These were designed to minimize the possibility of tampering with customer-imprinted information, after the finished labels leave Seneca and run through a secondary printing process at the customers’ facility. This material also allowed the customer more flexibility to print smaller run quantities both quickly and more economically. Since these discoveries, we have replicated the new material and adhesive knowledge, applying it to work for other customers in this field. We've been able to produce substantial amounts of labels, to our customers' great satisfaction.

One of our more recent customers has been having trouble with the label on an outdoor container. The current label is being run through a semi-automatic applicator, which is having dispensing issues. Upon visiting the customer, inspecting the process, and gathering some specs, we came to the conclusion that the current label construction was too aggressive; a less aggressive adhesive is needed to allow the labels to run more smoothly through the applicator. We're currently in the process of investigating alternative adhesives that will be less costly to the company, while also being a better fit. When we find one, we'll provide samples to the customer for them to test on both their applicators and in their humidity chamber. If they work, we'll be on the way to developing an improved process that works for the company.

At Seneca, we're not just about building our business, but also about building relationships. Suzanne is an estimator for one of our clients and always calls Seneca because she knows she'll receive terrific customer service. Not only do we produce quality labels and deliver them on time, but — even at the front end of the process — we get her quick quotes when she needs them, so that projects can get approved and get moving. The best part of the story is that Suzanne has been working with us for years. Even before she was in her current position, Suzanne partnered with us at two previous companies. She stuck with Seneca because we developed a relationship which has stood the test of time.
"Thanks for always getting our stuff done so quickly! Your customer service is amazing!"

This client came to us in January of 1993 for help with a specific job. Since then, on account of the terrific customer service received and our quick response time on a job that needed to be completed quickly, the client has come back to us again and again. After 20 years of working together, relationships have developed between their team members and Seneca. Mutual respect has grown, as has a mutual love for Cleveland sports teams and all our great city has to offer.
"In addition to the high quality products and exceptional service Seneca delivers to us, we also used the Cavs tickets you provided to promote the Seneca name throughout our organization. Seneca is even more well thought of than before."

The client was looking for a label that could adhere to the frost-covered plastic containers that stored their product. They'd looked at several places, but couldn't find a printer who manufactured labels with the adhesive properties that the label needed. Luckily, they found us. At Seneca, we had both the expertise to print the 4-color process label the way the customer wanted it and the know-how to recommend the correct adhesive. The result? A good-looking and effective label!

When this flooring manufacturer came to us with an emergency order that needed a quick turnaround, we promised them completed labels as quickly as possible. But our terrific Seneca team did even better, manufacturing the labels faster than originally projected.
"They're done?! That is awesome news! I appreciate all your help and will continue business with Seneca in full confidence. Thank you!"

We've been working with a long-term customer for many years and needed to raise prices. The client wasn't happy about the news, but by proactively having some long and honest conversations about time, quality, and service, we instilled confidence and they stuck with Seneca. Since then, the dairy company has grown and expanded to more locations, also increasing the amount of business they've brought to us. They were so pleased with the extra communication we had with them that they've become a great resource to Seneca, referring other Cleveland-based companies to us when they need labels.
"Hey, Seneca Guys — Here's an intro to my colleague, one of the owners of a company in your area. I thought you guys should talk about their labels."

This customer had been working with another supplier to obtain their labels, but the products were consistently shipped late and often arrived after their promised delivery date. Looking for a better solution, they decided to give Seneca a try. The first project we worked on together consisted of multiple different labels. We not only met the ship date we stated on our acknowledgment to the customer, but printed and shipped the entire order ahead of our normal lead times. The customer was extremely pleased and is now a repeat customer who has placed multiple orders since.
"You guys did a great job. We've had a lot of issues with a different vendor, so it's nice to be able to send this e-mail."

The work this client brought to Seneca really tested our mettle. Working on a product unlike any we had ever created, we ran lots of material tests and manufactured several prototypes. The final solution ended up requiring several unique cutting and sheeting dies. But that's not all. The adhesive and facestock needed to perform very specifically, and we made several iterations before it would. The adhesive had to remove very cleanly from any surface after prolonged application and the facestock had to run through a laser printer at the labels' end user. Despite all the very specific work, this order was finished two days ahead of schedule, allowing us to save the very happy client some costs on expedited shipping.
